ALEXANDER KERR SENTENCED IN CHESHIRE FOR CHILD SEX OFFENCES AND SECRET RECORDINGS
A 62-year-old man named Alexander Kerr from Cheshire has been sentenced to prison after a series of disturbing crimes involving the exploitation and invasion of privacy of young females.Kerr, who resided on Rushmore Drive in Widnes, was found guilty of a range of serious offences related to child sexual abuse and voyeurism, following an extensive investigation by Cheshire Police.
Authorities launched an inquiry in 2022 after receiving intelligence that Kerr was involved in downloading indecent images from his previous residence on Hewell Grange in Runcorn.
The investigation quickly uncovered a disturbing collection of nearly 2,800 indecent images of children stored on Kerr’s electronic devices.
These images included some classified as the most severe category, highlighting the gravity of his actions.
Kerr initially claimed that he had downloaded these illegal images unintentionally while searching for aviation videos, but police found evidence that contradicted his story, revealing that he had deliberately downloaded the material for his own sexual gratification.
On August 31, 2022, Cheshire Police executed a search warrant at Kerr’s home.
During the raid, officers seized multiple devices and discovered a vast cache of illegal content.
The evidence included 2,779 indecent images of children, with 528 categorized as Category A, 429 as Category B, and 1,822 as Category C.
Additionally, the police uncovered 44 extreme pornographic videos involving animals and 64 prohibited images of children, all downloaded over a period spanning from 2002 to 2023.
The investigation also revealed that Kerr had secretly recorded and photographed four females living nearby, capturing intimate moments within their own homes without their knowledge or consent.
Following his arrest, Kerr was formally charged with multiple offences.
He pleaded guilty to nine counts of making indecent images of children across categories A, B, and C, two counts of possessing indecent images of children, one count of possessing extreme pornography, two counts of taking indecent images of children, two counts of voyeurism, and one count of possessing a prohibited image of a child.
His actions have been described by authorities as both prolific and dangerous, emphasizing the severity of his crimes.
On October 30, at Liverpool Crown Court, Kerr was sentenced to two years and eight months in prison.
Detective Constable Michael McGuinness commented on the case, stating, “Kerr knew that what he was doing was wrong, yet he carried on anyway.
During his interview, he claimed that he accidentally downloaded indecent images of children while searching for aviation videos.
However, once confronted with the overwhelming evidence, he admitted to his guilt.
This was not a one-time incident but a sustained period during which he downloaded more than 2,000 images for his own sexual gratification.

Moreover, Kerr invaded the privacy of four women and girls by secretly recording and photographing them in their own homes.” He was also ordered to sign the sex offenders' register for life and was issued a sexual harm prevention order.
Authorities reaffirm their commitment to pursuing individuals involved in online child exploitation and sexual abuse, emphasizing that justice must be served to protect vulnerable victims and deter future offenders.
The case serves as a stark reminder of the ongoing efforts to combat such heinous crimes in Cheshire and beyond.
