CLINTON ROYLE FROM CHESHIRE FOUND GUILTY OF 43 CHILD SEX OFFENCES IN CHESTER COURT
A man named Clinton Royle, residing in Cheshire, has been convicted of a series of heinous sexual offences involving children, with the total count reaching 43.The case came to light after authorities initiated an investigation following a complaint made in 2019.
During the course of the investigation, Cheshire Police executed a search at Royle’s residence, where they confiscated various items including children’s clothing, hard drives, and digital storage devices.
The digital forensic unit of Cheshire Police meticulously examined these electronic devices and uncovered encrypted and password-protected files.
These files contained thousands of images depicting child abuse, alongside recordings that captured Royle’s own offending acts.
Further analysis revealed that Royle’s victims ranged in age from as young as three years old to twelve.
The investigation expanded, and law enforcement officials were able to identify additional victims within this age bracket, confirming the widespread nature of Royle’s criminal activities.
At Chester Crown Court, Royle, aged 62 and living on Elm Drive in Crewe, admitted to being present in the videos and images with the children.
However, he denied that his actions or the content of the images were sexual in nature.
Despite his claims, the evidence presented during the trial was overwhelming.
Royle was formally charged with multiple offences in April 2023, including assaulting a girl under 13, taking indecent photographs of children, possessing such photographs, creating indecent images, and inciting a girl under 13 to engage in sexual activity.
Following an 11-day trial, Royle was found guilty on numerous counts, including 28 charges of assaulting a girl under 13, two counts of taking indecent photographs, three counts of possessing indecent images, three counts of making indecent images, and seven counts of inciting a girl under 13 to engage in sexual acts.
He has been remanded in custody and is scheduled to be sentenced on September 27.
The case highlights the ongoing efforts of law enforcement in Cheshire to combat child exploitation and bring offenders to justice.
