MARTIN FALCONER SENTENCED IN CHESHIRE FOR YEARS OF ABUSE AGAINST TEENAGE GIRL
A man named Martin Falconer has been sentenced to 16 years in prison after a lengthy and disturbing case involving the sexual abuse of a teenage girl.Falconer, whose residence is listed as Spennymoor Court in Runcorn, Cheshire, was convicted on Tuesday, November 26, of multiple serious charges, including five counts of engaging in sexual activity with a child under the age of 16, attempted rape, sexual assault, and possession of indecent images of children.
Leah Green, the victim in this case, courageously shared her harrowing story with the ECHO newspaper, choosing to waive her right to anonymity in order to shed light on the abuse she endured at the hands of Falconer, who was her stepfather.
She revealed that the abuse began during her early adolescence and continued over several years.
Falconer, now 66 years old, subjected her to inappropriate sexual conduct, which included the installation of a hidden camera in her bedroom to record her without her knowledge.
She also recounted an attempted rape, which marked the most severe aspect of her suffering.
The police in Cheshire became involved in the case in 2019 after Leah Green reported the abuse.
The investigation uncovered a series of disturbing incidents that took place between 2016 and 2019, during which Falconer sexually assaulted her multiple times and attempted to rape her.
Additionally, authorities found indecent images of Leah Green stored on Falconer’s laptop, further evidencing his criminal behavior.
In an emotional interview with the ECHO, Leah Green expressed her desire to share her story publicly.
She stated, “I want my story out there.
After being called a liar by my family for so many years, I want to be heard.” Her aim is to encourage other victims to come forward and help prevent similar abuse from happening to others.
She emphasized the importance of speaking out, saying, “There are so many little girls out there losing their innocence to these vile men.
There’s something we can do to stop it.
You should speak out if you can.
You’ll be protecting so many young girls.
You’ll be saving little girls’ lives and saving their innocence.” Falconer’s relationship with Leah Green began when he moved into the family home when she was just a toddler.
For years, she believed him to be her father figure, and he played the role of a caring stepdad.
She described how he showered her with attention, buying her gifts, running her baths, and making her hot water bottles, which initially seemed loving and nurturing.
However, reflecting on those years now, Leah recognizes that this affection was a form of grooming, and she describes her feelings as being loved “in the wrong way.” Following a thorough investigation, Falconer was charged with multiple offenses and was found guilty after a trial held in June 2024.
His sentence includes not only the prison term but also notification requirements, a restraining order, and a Sexual Harm Prevention Order to prevent any further contact or harm.
Detective Sergeant Lee Ellis commented on the case, saying, “Firstly, I would like to commend the bravery of the victim in this case, and I hope the conclusion of this lengthy investigation and subsequent court process will help to bring her some closure.”
