CRAIG ADAMS CHESHIRE MAN CAUGHT WITH CHILD ABUSE IMAGES AND BESTIALITY PICTURES
A man from Cheshire, Craig Adams, 34, was found to have been secretly collecting and storing a disturbing collection of child abuse images on his personal computer over a span of eight years. His illicit activities came to light after he was caught leering at a photograph of a 17-year-old girl on the social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter.
Adams had been maintaining a clandestine online library filled with hundreds of indecent images depicting children being abused.
The material included extremely disturbing content such as images of babies and acts of bestiality.
His collection was amassed over several years, with the earliest images dating back to March 2015 and the latest being from June 15, 2023.
The investigation was triggered when Adams was reported to the police following suspicious activity on his X account.
The incident involved a message exchange with another user, who commented, “You must like jailbait,” to which Adams responded that he wanted to “see it all,” followed by further repulsive suggestions.
The other user then sent a message saying, “Sent.” Authorities executed a search warrant at Adams' residence in Davenham Way, Middlewich, Cheshire, in June of the previous year.
During the raid, law enforcement officers seized his computer and mobile phones.
A thorough examination of these devices revealed a horrifying collection of digital material: 683 still images of children, with 137 classified as Category A, 102 as Category B, and 444 as Category C.
Additionally, there were 45 images depicting acts of bestiality, which were described as explicit and realistic.
The children depicted in the images ranged in age from infants to 12-year-olds, including babies, and both male and female victims were represented.
The images had been collected over an eight-year period, highlighting a long-term pattern of offending behavior.
At Chester Crown Court, Adams, whose girlfriend was present and standing by him, pleaded guilty to four charges related to the making and possession of indecent images, as well as one charge involving extreme pornographic material.
His sentencing resulted in a 10-month prison term, suspended for two years.
As part of his sentence, Adams was ordered to complete 35 days of rehabilitation activities and perform 200 hours of unpaid community service.
Under sentencing guidelines, he could have faced up to three years in prison.
Prosecutor Thomas McLoughlin explained that the police had acted on intelligence indicating Adams' Twitter account was being used to share illegal images of children.
The search of his property uncovered a Samsung Galaxy mobile phone and a Vimeo 8 device, both of which were fully examined.
Data retrieved from these devices showed activity dating back to April 2015, confirming the long-term nature of his offending.
McLoughlin detailed that the images included both male and female children, with some victims as young as babies.
The extreme material also involved acts of bestiality.
Adams was interviewed by police but chose not to comment on the allegations.
In mitigation, defense lawyer Mark Connor highlighted that Adams had the support of his long-term partner, his father, and his mother.
He noted that Adams had taken time since his arrest to reflect on his actions and expressed that he was deeply remorseful.
Connor emphasized Adams' intelligence and his acknowledgment of the moral and harmful nature of his conduct, which he admitted was driven by a desire for sexual gratification.
The lawyer also pointed out that Adams had been honest during his interview and did not attempt to minimize his behavior.
As part of the court's ruling, Adams was subjected to a sexual harm prevention order lasting ten years and was required to register as a sex offender for the same period.
Judge Simon Berkson addressed Adams directly, stating, “You have a partner and a good job.
Yet, between 2015 and 2023, over an extended period, you downloaded 683 indecent images of children onto your computer.
Each image depicted some form of abuse, which you viewed repeatedly over the years.
You also possessed a significant number of extreme pornography images involving animals.
These are serious offenses involving multiple victims, including a baby.
You had a method for cleaning up your computer, but the fact remains that you engaged in this behavior for many years.” The judge acknowledged Adams' otherwise good character, noting that he had no prior criminal record and was well-regarded by his family and partner, but emphasized the gravity of his offenses and the harm caused to the victims.
