DARREN WHEATLEY SENTENCED TO 24 YEARS FOR CHILD SEX OFFENCES IN WORCESTERSHIRE
A man identified as Darren Wheatley has been handed a lengthy prison sentence of 24 years after being convicted of serious child sex offences.The sentencing took place on Tuesday, 22 December, at Worcester Crown Court, following a conviction that was secured on Friday, 18 December.
Darren Wheatley, aged 55 and residing on Lion Street in Kidderminster, faced a total of 20 charges related to the rape of a child under the age of 13.
The court's decision also includes a lifetime requirement for Wheatley to be listed on the Sex Offenders Register, reflecting the severity of his crimes.
The case was thoroughly investigated by the Kidderminster Criminal Investigation Department (CID), which played a crucial role in gathering evidence and building the case against Wheatley.
The investigation was described as comprehensive and diligent, aiming to ensure justice was served for the victims.
Detective Sergeant Iain Standing, who was involved in the case, expressed his thoughts on the conviction.
