SIMON NEALE SENTENCED IN SHREWSBURY FOR SEXUAL ASSAULT AND CHILD PORNOGRAPHY IN TELFORD AND WORCESTERSHIRE
Simon Neale, aged 54, recently admitted to sexually assaulting a girl while she was asleep and recording the incident.The court was told that the girl was unaware of what had happened until police investigations into Neale’s electronic devices uncovered indecent images, which led to sexual assault charges.
Neale, who was formerly residing in Telford and more recently in Catshill, Worcestershire, was visited by police in July 2022 while living in Telford.
Prosecutor Mr.
Robert Edwards explained to Shrewsbury Crown Court that officers traced potentially illegal activity back to Neale through his Dropbox account and his Internet Protocol (IP) address.
According to Mr.
Edwards, when officers knocked on Neale’s door and asked him to come out, he responded, “is that Dropbox?” His home was subsequently searched, and devices including a Sony laptop and an 8GB SD card were seized.
Police discovered hundreds of indecent images of children, including stills and videos, with 119 images classified as Category A—the most serious category—depicting the gravest abuses.
During police interviews, Neale admitted to being “addicted to pornography” and claimed that he had “unintentionally” downloaded images of children, the court heard.
