ROB GEORGE FROM WORCESTERSHIRE FACES JAIL OVER CHILD INDECENT IMAGES
Rob George, a resident of Rowan Close in Bromsgrove, Worcestershire, is currently facing serious legal consequences after admitting to multiple charges related to the creation and possession of indecent images of children. The case was heard in Worcester Magistrates Court, where George appeared before the magistrates to answer for his actions.
During the court proceedings on Thursday, February 15, George, aged 42, pleaded guilty to three charges of making indecent photographs or pseudo-photographs of a child.
These charges included the creation of one Category A image, which is classified as the most severe level of indecency under the sentencing guidelines.
In addition, he admitted to producing two Category B images and thirty-six Category C images.
The images in question were produced over a period spanning from March 7, 2014, to October 14, 2021, all within the town of Bromsgrove.
The prosecution, led by Lauren Millichip, highlighted the disturbing nature of the offences, emphasizing that the victims were children aged between one and eight years old.
Millichip also revealed that authorities discovered moving images stored within a video file, further aggravating the case.
The severity of the offences prompted the magistrates to consider the potential for a custodial sentence.
James McAulay, representing George, requested that a pre-sentence report be prepared before any final sentencing decision was made.
The chairman of the magistrates, Roger Phillips, explained that due to the gravity of the case, the magistrates were declining jurisdiction and would refer the matter to Worcester Crown Court for sentencing.
George was granted unconditional bail but was instructed to attend the sentencing hearing scheduled for Friday, March 15.
At the hearing, George was informed that the court would consider all options, including the possibility of imprisonment, based on the pre-sentence report.
Additionally, he was immediately required to register as a sex offender, with instructions to do so at Worcester Police Station.
The court also ordered that George remain on the sex offenders register for the next five years, a measure designed to monitor and prevent further offending.
Rob George is known for his role as the editor of several local newspapers, including the Worcester Observer, Malvern Observer, and Evesham Observer, according to information available on their official websites.
He has also previously worked as a reporter for the Bromsgrove Standard.
The case underscores the serious nature of his offences and the ongoing legal proceedings that will determine his future.
