LEE GREENHILL AND HORRIFIC SEX OFFENCES IN WORCESTERSHIRE
A man from Kidderminster, named Lee Greenhill, has been sentenced to serve a prison term after being found guilty of a series of serious criminal offences involving child exploitation.Greenhill, aged 46 and residing on St Cecilia Close, was handed a three-year prison sentence following his admission of guilt to six distinct charges.
The charges encompassed attempting to establish sexual communications with minors, possessing indecent images of children, and owning images that depict sexual acts involving an animal.
The criminal case was initiated after the police received credible information on January 17 that Greenhill had interacted with two girls online, both of whom were under the age of 16.
During these online interactions, Greenhill engaged in manipulative tactics, including the use of photographs of other young men, to deceive and lure the children.
He falsely claimed to be a wealthy businessman, sharing with the girls photographs of luxury yachts and expensive cars, and even promised to take them on trips aboard such vessels.
The conversations between Greenhill and his young victims reportedly included explicit sexual overtones, with Greenhill expressing his intent to engage in sexual acts with the children.
To reinforce this, he also sent the girls explicit pictures and videos.
Following Greenhill's arrest, authorities conducted thorough examinations of all electronic devices in his possession, uncovering additional evidence supporting the charges against him.
Despite initially denying the allegations during police interviews, Greenhill was formally charged on January 18.
He subsequently pleaded guilty to multiple counts, including three charges related to attempting to communicate sexually with a child, possessing indecent images of minors, attempting to make a child view images of sexual activity, distributing indecent photographs of a child, possessing images showing sexual acts with an animal, and breaching a sexual harm prevention order.
As part of the sentencing outcome, Greenhill was not only sentenced to three years behind bars but was also ordered to be added to the sex offenders' register for the rest of his life, ensuring lifelong identification as a convicted sex offender.
During his booking photo, Greenhill was shown wearing a Wolverhampton Wanderers football shirt, an image that drew shame and condemnation.
Detective Sergeant Dave Meyer, who leads the Online Child Sexual Exploitation Team at West Mercia Police, expressed his views on the case, stating, 'I’m pleased that Greenhill will now face the consequences for his actions, and will rightly be identified as a sex offender for life.
There is no doubt that he poses a threat to young people and without our intervention may have gone on to groom others online, escalating his behaviour towards contact offending, something we work day-in and day-out to prevent.' He further emphasized the importance of collaborative efforts in tackling such crimes, noting, 'This case is a testament to the fact that our close relationships with partners in regional organised crime units, children’s services and the charitable sector are paying dividends in our fight to protect children online.'
