The charges included two counts of sexual assault by touching and digital penetration, as well as six counts of creating and possessing indecent images of a child.
These offenses took place in the year 2021 and involve a young girl who was under the age of 18 at the time.

Following his conviction, Reid was sentenced to a prison term of five years.
Additionally, he will be registered as a sex offender for the remainder of his life, a designation that involves strict monitoring and registration requirements designed to protect the community.
Furthermore, Reid was subjected to the imposition of a Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO), which is intended to restrict his future access to potential victims and digital equipment.
The order prohibits him from having contact with females under 18 and severely limits his ability to use or access digital devices and systems, with these restrictions remaining in effect for the rest of his life.
Addressing the case, investigating officer Sergeant Ollie Bali expressed his thoughts on the impact of the victim’s bravery during the investigation.
He praised the young girl for her resilience and courage, emphasizing that her cooperation was instrumental in securing the conviction.
Sergeant Bali concluded by stating that the combined measures of Reid’s imprisonment, his lifelong sex offender status, and the Sexual Harm Prevention Order are crucial steps in preventing him from causing further harm to the community or vulnerable individuals.
