JOHN MADDOX AND THE ESSEX OFFENDERS FOUND GUILTY IN CONNECTION WITH INTERNATIONAL PAEDOPHILE RING BASED ON NUDIST WEBSITE
A woman and four men were convicted on Wednesday for their involvement in an international paedophile ring that masked its crimes behind a nudist website.
Among those convicted was John Maddox, aged 46, from Rainham, Essex.
Maddox was found guilty of causing a child to engage in sexual activity.
He had previously admitted to possessing two indecent photographs of children.
The police investigation by Hampshire authorities was initiated after Australian officials alerted them about a similar ring operating there, which also exploited children.
It was revealed that Maddox, along with others, had been in contact with the Australian ring, exchanging images with them.
One of the charges against a suspect named Noon involved encouraging an Australian child to participate in sexual activities.
During the investigation, authorities recovered extensive evidence, including 2,000 pages of chat logs, 14,000 indecent images of children, and 300 videos depicting child abuse.
