PERTH MAN DONALD KERR CAUGHT WITH CHILD ABUSE IMAGES NEAR PRIMARY SCHOOL
In September 2014, a disturbing case emerged involving Donald Kerr, a 47-year-old resident of Perth, who was found to possess an extensive collection of child abuse images.Kerr's home, which overlooks a primary school in Perth, became the focus of a police investigation after authorities uncovered a significant amount of illicit material on his computer.
Police executed a search warrant at Kerr's residence, situated on Crammond Place, a location that provides a view of North Muirton Primary School.
During the raid, officers discovered more than 1,300 obscene images depicting children, including a disturbing collection of naked selfies.
The images represented a wide range of indecency, with many of the videos exceeding the highest levels of explicit content.
The investigation revealed that Kerr had accumulated over ten hours of illicit videos, many of which were highly indecent and disturbing.
Kerr was taken into custody and appeared before Perth Sheriff Court on a Tuesday, where he admitted to possessing the illegal files stored at his home.
In addition to the possession charges, Kerr pleaded guilty to attempting to contact a 14-year-old girl.
He had urged her to send him explicit photographs and videos of herself, further compounding the severity of his actions.
Following his court appearance, Kerr was released on bail, with conditions that allowed him to remain at his residence on Crammond Place.
His case was scheduled for sentencing on October 29, with the court considering the full extent of his offenses.
The case has drawn significant concern given the proximity of his home to a primary school and the nature of the crimes involved.
