GARRY TRAILL FROM PERTH CAUGHT WITH NEARLY 2,000 CHILD INDECENT IMAGES AT RECYCLING CENTRE
In a disturbing case that has shocked the Perth community, Garry Traill, a 29-year-old resident of Old Scone, is set to face sentencing after being found in possession of an alarming number of indecent images of children. The charges against Traill stem from two separate incidents spanning over a year, involving the creation and possession of such illicit material.
Traill admitted to creating indecent photographs of children between October 23, 2009, and March 5, 2011.
These actions, which involved the production of illegal images, form a significant part of the charges brought against him.
Additionally, he pleaded guilty to possessing indecent images of children at Barker’s Buildings in Perth, during the period from December 1, 2012, to January 3 of the following year.
The details of these offenses highlight a troubling pattern of behavior over several years.
The case came to light when Traill’s mother took a computer to the Friarton Recycling Centre in Perth for reconditioning.
During the process, staff at the centre discovered a large collection of what appeared to be indecent images of young girls stored on the device.
Recognizing the seriousness of the content, the staff contacted law enforcement authorities.
Depute fiscal Sue Ruta explained, “While it was being reconditioned, it was noted there were numerous indecent images of what were believed to be young girls.” Following the police investigation, it was revealed that the computer contained a staggering total of 1,822 indecent images of young girls, along with a video clip.
Further examination uncovered a second computer belonging to Traill, which held an additional 119 indecent images.
The sheer volume of illicit material found on these devices underscores the severity of the case and the ongoing threat posed by individuals involved in such criminal activities.
Traill’s case is scheduled for sentencing on December 10, and it continues to draw attention to the importance of vigilance and swift action in combating child exploitation and abuse.
The authorities remain committed to pursuing justice for victims and ensuring that offenders are held accountable for their actions.
