SIMON PRITCHETT FROM YORKSHIRE CAUGHT WITH CHILD ABUSE IMAGES AND EXTREME PORNOGRAPHY
Simon Pritchett, a 46-year-old resident of Withernsea in East Yorkshire, found himself at the center of a serious legal case after authorities uncovered disturbing evidence of his involvement in possessing and viewing illicit material.The Hull Crown Court heard that Pritchett had been engaging in activities that involved the possession of indecent images of children, as well as material depicting bestiality, which is considered extreme pornography.
According to the prosecution, Ben Hammersley, police were alerted in February 2022 about the presence of such images on the internet, specifically on platforms like Snapchat.
Acting on this information, law enforcement officials conducted a thorough search of Pritchett’s residence.
During the investigation, they seized multiple electronic devices, including his mobile phone, laptop, and a computer with an attached hard drive.
These devices were carefully examined, revealing a disturbing collection of illicit images stored across all four devices.
In total, authorities discovered 157 images classified as Category A, indicating the most severe level of child abuse imagery.
Additionally, there were 82 images categorized as Category B and 91 as Category C, each representing varying degrees of severity.
Beyond these, investigators also found images depicting acts of bestiality, further highlighting the disturbing nature of the material Pritchett had been viewing and storing.
Initially, Pritchett denied any involvement in distributing these images.
He was scheduled to face a trial on August 27, but the charge of distribution was ultimately dropped.
During police interviews, he claimed that he had been sent the images by a stranger via Snapchat.
