YORKSHIRE SEX OFFENDER LIAM CROSBY SENTENCED TO SIX YEARS FOR CHILD INDECENCY CRIMES
Liam Crosby, a man from Harewood Rise in Keighley, Yorkshire, has been sentenced to six years in prison following a series of serious sex offences involving minors. The conviction was handed down at Bradford Crown Court after a comprehensive trial that revealed the extent of Crosby's criminal activities.
According to court records, Crosby was found guilty of multiple charges related to the exploitation and abuse of children.
These charges included the creation and distribution of indecent images of minors, as well as attempting to persuade a child to engage in sexual acts.
The court heard that Crosby's actions were not isolated incidents but part of a pattern of predatory behavior that spanned a period of time.
The case came to light after an incident on 11 July 2022, when Crosby was arrested following a referral from the National Crime Agency.
The trigger for this investigation was the discovery of an indecent image of a child uploaded from a Snapchat account linked to Crosby.
Authorities quickly moved to seize his phone, which upon examination, revealed a disturbing collection of further indecent images of children.
Additionally, investigators uncovered numerous sexually explicit communications with minors, indicating a deliberate pattern of grooming and exploitation.
Further investigations uncovered links between Crosby and other offences involving a 15-year-old victim.
This led to his re-arrest and the seizure of another device, which contained more images and sexualized messages exchanged with children.
The police charged Crosby with additional offences related to these findings, and he was remanded into custody to await trial.
Det Sgt Craig Stevens, of the Bradford District Online Child Abuse Investigation Team, expressed his condemnation of Crosby's actions, describing him as a “prolific offender who deserves to be behind bars for a long time.” He also praised the bravery of the young victim, stating, “The victim has shown immense bravery throughout this process, and I hope the conclusion of this court case brings them some closure on an extremely difficult period in their young life.” As a result of the court proceedings, Crosby received a six-year prison sentence, along with a three-year extended licence period, ensuring he remains under supervision after his release.
The case highlights ongoing concerns about online child exploitation and the importance of swift law enforcement action to protect vulnerable minors from predators like Crosby.
