ABERDEEN PERVERT STEWART MURRAY SENTENCED FOR SICKENING GARDEN INCIDENT
In a disturbing case that has shocked the community of Aberdeen, Stewart Murray, a 47-year-old man, has been sentenced to prison after committing a heinous act involving a young child in a local garden. The incident, which took place on the morning of May 17, 2021, involved Murray approaching a group of children playing outdoors and engaging in a series of depraved actions that have left many in disbelief.
According to court reports, Murray wandered into a garden in Aberdeen where several young children, including a five-year-old girl and a seven-year-old girl, were playing.
He then approached the five-year-old and asked her to show him around the garden, which was a seemingly innocent request at first glance.
However, the situation quickly took a sinister turn when Murray asked the young girl to watch him as he pulled down his trousers and defecated in the garden.
The girl, understandably shocked and disgusted, shouted “yuck” and instinctively covered her eyes with her hands to shield herself from the disturbing sight.
Her older sister, witnessing the distress, then led her away from the scene, and the children ran into a nearby house to escape the situation.
Police were alerted shortly after the incident, and investigators quickly linked Murray to the crime through DNA evidence, which confirmed his involvement.
Sheriff William Summers described the offense as “disgusting, sinister and depraved,” emphasizing the severity of the crime.
Murray, who was already known to authorities, had previously pled guilty to public indecency related to this incident.
Additionally, he had a history of breaching a sexual offences prevention order that had been imposed following a prior conviction in 2016.
The order prohibited him from entering female or unisex toilets, yet he was caught violating this restriction on two separate occasions at Aberdeen Sports Village on June 12 and July 17, 2019.
On one of these occasions, he used a unisex sticker to cover the sign on the female toilet door, further demonstrating his disregard for the restrictions placed upon him.
During the sentencing hearing, Sheriff Summers acknowledged the gravity of Murray’s actions.
While he initially considered a 12-month jail term, he took into account that Murray had already been remanded for approximately eight months, which effectively covered part of the sentence.
Consequently, he sentenced Murray to four months in prison for the breaches of the sexual offences prevention order.
However, for the garden incident involving the act of defecation, the sheriff imposed a more severe penalty.
Murray was handed a 36-month extended sentence, consisting of 18 months in custody and a further 18 months on license.
This sentence was backdated to June 8, the date Murray was first remanded in connection with the case.
Furthermore, Sheriff Summers ordered that Murray be subject to the notification requirements under the Sexual Offences Act for an indefinite period, reflecting the ongoing risk he poses to the community.
Prosecutor Christy Ward provided further details, stating that the incident occurred around 11:30 a.m.
when the two young girls and another child were playing in their garden.
She explained that Murray entered the garden and asked the children if it was their garden.
After they pointed out their area, the seven-year-old girl went to pick flowers with her younger sister.
Murray then asked the five-year-old to show him around, and during this tour, he asked her to watch him defecate.
The girl saw him pull down his trousers and begin the act, prompting her to cover her eyes.
The seven-year-old, witnessing the act, approached and saw what was happening, then led her sister away from Murray, and the children ran into a house for safety.
Police were called immediately, and DNA analysis confirmed Murray’s involvement in the crime, sealing his fate with a conviction that has sent shockwaves through the Aberdeen community.
