October 2009 Child abuse video trader jailed An oil industry computer expert unmasked as a distributor of abusive images of children has been jailed for six years. Police seized IT equipment from a man and the arrest led them to David Brown’s Aberdeen flat, where they found 4,542 abusive images and videos. The 39-year-old told officers he was known as a “good trader”. Father-of-one Brown admitted making and distributing indecent images. He was jailed at the High Court in Edinburgh. Police computer experts who viewed the images stored by Brown said they were among the worst they had encountered. Lord Hardie told Brown, of Broomhill Road: “Many of these children were infants, no more than babies. “It is difficult to imagine how any human being can treat children in that way. “It is difficult to imagine how any human being – because I suspect you think you are – can condone such treatment by encouraging others indirectly to photograph such acts and to distribute them.”
