In August 2012, Scott Rutherford, a 33-year-old resident of Aberdeen, was found to have downloaded a total of 3,336 indecent images of children at his flat in the city.

Rutherford, who listed his solicitor’s firm, Messrs George Mathers of Adelphi, Aberdeen, as his address in court documents, was sentenced to a one-year probation period.

In addition, he was placed on the sex offenders’ register for the same duration.
