SEAN TAYLOR JAILED IN WARRINGTON FOR VOYEURISM AND SEXUAL ASSAULT INCIDENTS
A 21-year-old man named Sean Taylor has been sentenced to prison following a series of disturbing incidents that took place in Warrington. The events occurred on July 1, 2012, while Taylor was on licence from the Appleton Thorn Youth Offenders Institution.
On that day, he committed two separate offences involving women in public spaces within Warrington, leading to his conviction for voyeurism and sexual assault.
According to court proceedings, a 22-year-old woman was shopping at a Peacocks store when she noticed a man’s head peering underneath the door of a changing room.
Alarmed and distressed by the invasion of her privacy, she promptly reported the incident to store staff.
The court heard that Taylor’s inappropriate behavior did not end there.
Later that same day, Taylor was involved in another disturbing act.
He approached a 35-year-old woman from behind and physically grabbed her.
During this assault, he shouted offensive remarks, causing the woman to scream in fear and shock.
The prosecuting attorney, Ian Criddle, described the victim’s emotional state, stating, “The changing room victim said she was almost in tears and felt shocked and upset.” During the court hearing, Taylor’s defense attorney, Michael Scholes, expressed remorse on his client’s behalf.
Scholes stated that Taylor was “ashamed and mortified” about his actions and revealed that he had covered his ears during parts of the proceedings, indicating his discomfort and remorse.
Judge David Hale delivered the sentence, condemning Taylor’s actions and emphasizing the seriousness of the offences.
Taylor was sentenced to 10 months in prison for his conduct, marking a significant legal response to his violations in Warrington.
The case highlights ongoing concerns about personal safety and the importance of vigilance in public spaces within the town.
