January 2013 Child rapist jailed for 10 years after violent attack A EVIL pervert who forced a 15-year-old girl to endure a four hour long ‘brutal and protracted’ series of rapes has been jailed for 10 years. Clint Chappell, aged 39, held the teenager against her will at his Wilderspool Causeway bedsit during the assault in December which left her with significant injuries. Sentencing him Judge Nicholas Woodward said: “I have no doubt what occurred was not spontaneous, it was a planned premeditated decision. “You attacked her in the most atrocious ways, there were a series of rapes and sexual violence over a period of over four hours. “It must be difficult if not impossible for her to recover from it.” Warrington Crown Court heard on Monday how after taking the girl to his flat he pretending to call a taxi firm. Andrew Greene, prosecuting, said: “He drew the curtains and he demanded she get undressed. He pushed her onto the bed but she fought back, she was kicking, punching, scratching and screaming. “He was really strong and she noticed there was a knife on the bed with the blade open. “She asked him why he had the knife, he said he wouldn’t hurt her but she would have to take her clothes off.” He proceeded to rape her five times and at one point his victim thought she was about to escape but was ordered to undress again and attacked her again. When Chappell finally let her go the girl fled after being followed a short distance and then phoned her mum in tears to tell her what had happened. The court heard how the girl had suffered serious injuries including bruising to her neck and wrists where Chappell had grabbed her. She had also been severely traumatised by the event. Chappell had a previous conviction for domestic abuse before this offence. He pleaded guilty to five counts of rape and two of sexual assault. Phil Martin, defending, said: “There really is nothing one can say to excuse or try and defend it. “He cannot believe what he has done. He has no explanation. “Although he is a career criminal there is nothing to suggest violence or this level of abuse would happen.” Judge Woodward also ordered he go on the sex offenders register for life.
