CHILD RAPIST TOLD A GIRL AS YOUNG AS TEN THAT IF SHE DIDN’T PERFORM SEXUAL ACTIONS FOR HIM “FATHER CHRISTMAS WOULDN’T COME.”
Lee Brown, aged 21, received his sentencing on May 3 after being convicted on eight counts of sexual misconduct connected to his abusive acts against two young girls aged ten and eight at the time.Brown, residing on Freshwater Close in Great Sankey, appeared before Liverpool Crown Court saw his family in tears observing as the details of his disturbing actions were shared.
Prosecutor Olivia Beesley outlined to the court that Brown, then aged 15 during the incidents, engaged in what she described as “systematic, persistent, and regular abuse over a year.” In each case, the victims reported that Brown initiated contact by pulling down his trousers and asking them to touch his genitals.
Throughout the year, he repeated this behavior and coerced them into oral sex, also instructing them on masturbation and requiring them to perform it in his presence.
His abuse targeted one girl at a time, but both victims were subjected to his misconduct over nearly a year.
The ten-year-old victim at one point resisted Brown’s demands, which led him to threaten her, saying “Father Christmas wouldn’t come” if she didn’t comply.
The eight-year-old victim, despite repeatedly saying ‘no’ to his advances, was pressured by Brown, who was 15 and acknowledged as a child sex offender.
During her victim impact statement, one girl expressed feeling burdened by her trauma, stating, “I feel I have to live with this weight on my shoulders,” while the other wished for her experiences to be believed.
The abuse was initially disclosed in October 2021, followed by victim interviews in November.
Brown was interviewed in December, during which he admitted to the misconduct, culminating in his guilty plea to all eight charges.
He also acknowledged that his criminal behavior started when he was 11, with the victims aged four and six.
Ms.
Beesley emphasised that the psychological damage inflicted was severe.
Brown’s defence attorney, Simran Garcha, described him as ‘ashamed and contrite,’ attributing part of his actions to impulsiveness and his ADHD diagnosis.
Judge Recorder Michael Maher recognised some aspects of this claim but pointed out Brown’s cunning in manipulating the victims, especially noting his use of threats involving ‘Father Christmas’ and exploiting their immaturity.
Ms.
Garcha further argued that Brown’s undiagnosed ADHD left him emotionally delayed by two years, which made his actions seem ‘almost normal’ at the time.
The judge summarised: “You exploited them, and you abused them,” emphasising how Brown manipulated his emotional connection with the girls, causing lasting harm.
Considering his age and mental state, the judge stated that had Brown been an adult and pled not guilty, he would have faced a 14-year sentence.
Instead, due to his early guilty plea and minor status, he was sentenced to four years and four months, with two-thirds to be served in prison.
All charges will be served concurrently, with sentences ranging from 18 to 52 months.
Additionally, Brown faces a ten-year sexual harm prevention order and a related ten-year restraining order prohibiting contact with the victims.
