ABERDEEN MAN BRIAN GRIFFIN CAUGHT WITH INDECENT CHILD IMAGES IN SHOCKING CASE
In a disturbing case that has sent shockwaves through the community of Aberdeen, a man named Brian Griffin, aged 44, faced charges related to the creation and possession of indecent images involving a minor.The incident came to light after Griffin’s illegal activities were uncovered through the discovery of incriminating material on a memory card he sold.
According to court proceedings held at Aberdeen Sheriff Court, Griffin admitted to the offence of taking, permitting to be taken, or making indecent photographs or pseudo photographs of a child.
The offences are alleged to have occurred over a period stretching from October 20, 2014, to January 9, 2015.
The court was informed that Griffin had engaged in the creation of these illicit images by superimposing the head of a young girl onto the body of an adult female, a method often used to produce fake or pseudo images that are nonetheless deeply disturbing.
Further details revealed that Griffin was subject to the notification requirements under the Sexual Offences Act, indicating prior or ongoing concerns related to sexual offences.
Notably, Griffin failed to appear in court on May 17 of the same year, which added to the seriousness of the case.
The investigation uncovered that Griffin had sold an SD card to Cash Generators Ltd, located on George Street in Aberdeen.
When the store manager examined the card for resale purposes, he discovered the presence of indecent images of a child, prompting immediate action.
Following this discovery, the police were contacted, and the SD card was handed over to authorities later that day.
A search of Griffin’s residence was conducted, during which the SD card was thoroughly examined.
Authorities found a folder on the card that was consistent with the use of a camera found at Griffin’s address.
The investigation revealed a total of 14 pseudo images, which included two hard copy photographs that had been deliberately arranged in a specific manner.
Underneath these photographs, handwritten text was also found, adding further evidence to the case.
The court heard that Griffin’s actions involved the creation of these disturbing images, which depicted a child’s head superimposed onto an adult female’s body.
The images were considered highly inappropriate and illegal, prompting the court to take the matter seriously.
Griffin was described in court documents as being a prisoner at HMP Grampian, and Sheriff William Summers decided to defer sentencing until next month.
The delay was granted to allow for a comprehensive background report to be prepared, which will likely influence the final sentencing decision in this troubling case.
