TIMOTHY ROSS FROM ISLE OF WIGHT SHOCKS COMMUNITY WITH CHILD PORN AND EXTREME PORN CRIMES
In a disturbing case that has sent shockwaves through the Isle of Wight community, Timothy Ross, a former paramedic with longstanding ties to the area, has been officially removed from the medical register following his conviction on serious charges involving child exploitation and extreme pornography.The decision was made by the Health & Care Professions Tribunal Service (HCPTS), which determined that Ross’s fitness to practice was significantly impaired due to his criminal conduct, primarily to protect the public from further harm.
Ross’s criminal activities came to light during a police investigation that uncovered his disturbing interest in young boys.
Authorities received credible information suggesting that Ross was displaying an inappropriate fascination with minors, prompting a police visit to his residence.
During this visit, officers seized his computer equipment and other electronic devices for forensic examination.
The investigation revealed that Ross had stored and viewed indecent images of children aged between 6 and 10 years old, along with extreme pornographic material depicting acts of intercourse and oral sex involving animals, both dead and alive.
Following the discovery, Ross was interviewed by police, during which he chose to remain silent, offering no comment.
He claimed he was unaware of the origins of the images found on his devices and insisted he had not seen them before.
The police report indicated that Ross’s interest appeared to be focused on young boys, which raised significant concerns about his potential threat to children and the community.
On February 14, 2019, the Hampshire Constabulary formally referred the case to the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC), alerting them to the serious allegations against Ross.
Subsequently, Ross announced his retirement from the paramedic profession, stating on April 25, 2019, that he planned to cease working as a paramedic from May 7, with no intention of returning to the profession.
The following month, on June 14, 2019, Ross was formally charged with multiple offenses, including making indecent photographs of children and possessing extreme pornography.
He appeared in court on August 8, 2019, where he pleaded guilty to all charges.
Ross’s career in emergency medical services spanned several decades.
He served with the Isle of Wight Ambulance Service starting in 1997 and later became a flying paramedic with the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance, a role he held for four years.
His professional journey also included work with the South Central Ambulance Service and a stint in Queensland, Australia.
Despite his professional achievements, Ross’s reputation was marred by the criminal acts that led to his conviction.
Beyond his work as a paramedic, Ross was known locally for his active involvement in fundraising activities and community service.
He was associated with a sailing training company, contributed to a local lifeboat station, and was employed at Solent Middle School in Cowes.
His contributions to the community were well recognized until his criminal conduct overshadowed his previous efforts, leading to his removal from the medical register and a significant breach of public trust.
