JOHN GAY OF SHANKLIN SENTENCED TO 42 MONTHS FOR CHILD SEX OFFENCES

John Gay, a 70-year-old resident of Shanklin, has been sentenced to 42 months in prison after being convicted of child sex offences committed at the age of 70. The offences include an attempt to meet a girl under 16 after grooming her and possessing indecent images of children, which included videos of the most severe kind. Authorities found Gay in possession of condoms and multiple devices containing illegal content. Additionally, he is required to register as a sex offender indefinitely and will be subject to a victim surcharge.
