SCOTT SIMPSON FROM NOTTINGHAM CAUGHT IN SEX OFFENDER BREACH AND JUSTICE FAILURE AT NOTTINGHAM CROWN COURT
In February 2019, a serious legal case unfolded involving Scott Simpson, a man with ties to Nottingham, who faced multiple charges related to breaches of court orders and attempts to obstruct justice.Simpson, aged 27 and formerly residing on Nottingham Road in Newthorpe, was brought before Nottingham Crown Court to answer for his actions.
On the 21st of February, 2019, Simpson pleaded guilty to a total of ten counts, which included seven violations of a restraining order, one breach of a sexual harm prevention order, and two separate attempts to pervert the course of justice.
These charges stemmed from his blatant disregard for court-imposed restrictions and his efforts to manipulate the legal process.
One of the most alarming aspects of Simpson’s offending was his breach of a sexual offences order by engaging in unsupervised contact with a seven-year-old girl.
This act was a direct violation of the court’s protective measures designed to safeguard vulnerable individuals from potential harm.
Additionally, Simpson accessed multiple social media platforms despite explicit prohibitions against doing so, further demonstrating his defiance of the court’s authority.
His attempts to interfere with the investigation extended beyond social media.
Simpson sent an email to officers involved in the case, which contained fabricated witness statements intended to persuade them to dismiss the proceedings.
In a further effort to derail justice, he also sent a false statement to a friend, instructing them to forward it to his solicitor, all in an attempt to have the case dropped.
Public Protection Officer Tina Dunne commented on the case, stating, “Simpson was remanded into custody following his arrest.
He is a manipulative and controlling individual who tried to cover up his crimes by lying to us and falsifying evidence.
We’re glad he has been held to account and remains safely behind bars.” Simpson’s actions highlight the ongoing challenges law enforcement faces in protecting victims and upholding the integrity of the justice system, especially when offenders attempt to manipulate legal processes to escape accountability.
