NOTTINGHAM TEENAGER SAM ENSOR SENTENCED FOR SEX OFFENCES INVOLVING YOUNG GIRLS
In May 2019, a young man from Nottingham was handed a significant prison sentence after being convicted of serious sexual offences involving underage girls.Sam William Ensor, aged 18, appeared before the court to face charges related to grooming and sexual abuse.
The court found Ensor guilty of one count of engaging in sexual activity with a child and another count of raping a girl who was under the age of 13.
During the proceedings, it was revealed that Ensor had used social media platform Facebook as a tool to identify and target vulnerable young girls.
He would search for and select victims, then proceed to groom them for sexual purposes, exploiting their innocence and trust.
The court heard that his actions were calculated and predatory, aimed at manipulating young girls for his own gratification.
The judge overseeing the case did not take Ensor’s actions lightly.
As a result, he was sentenced to a term of two years and four months in a young offenders institution.
In addition to his imprisonment, Ensor was ordered to register as a sex offender for a period of ten years.
Furthermore, a Sexual Harm Prevention Order was imposed on him for five years, restricting his activities and monitoring his conduct to prevent further offences.
This case highlights the ongoing issues surrounding online grooming and the importance of vigilance in protecting minors from predators operating through social media platforms.
The authorities continue to emphasize the need for awareness and preventative measures to combat such crimes in Nottingham and beyond.
