SAAD HAMADA CAUGHT IN NOTTINGHAM AFTER ONLINE PREDATOR PLOT GONE WRONG
In January 2018, a disturbing case unfolded in Nottingham involving Saad Hamada, a 25-year-old Egyptian national who arrived in the UK in 2016 after crossing the Channel in a lorry from Calais.Hamada, who is currently seeking asylum, found himself in serious legal trouble after attempting to engage in illicit activities with what he believed to be underage girls he met online.
According to court proceedings at Nottingham Crown Court, Hamada had been making repeated sexual requests to a person he thought was a 12-year-old girl.
He also sent her explicit images of himself, demonstrating a clear intent to pursue a sexual relationship with someone he believed was a minor.
The court heard that Hamada had gone as far as arranging a physical meeting, providing details of a bus route and stop to facilitate the encounter.
Specifically, he told the supposed girl that his address was near the fifth stop from Nottingham city centre and gave her the bus stop number.
On the day of the planned meeting, the girl, who was actually an online vigilante posing as a child, indicated she had disembarked from a bus outside a chemist.
Hamada then instructed her to walk to a nearby bus stop so he could see her, revealing his attempt to locate her in person.
At this point, a member of the vigilante group, a woman who appeared to be a young girl herself, approached the bus stop.
She observed Hamada hiding behind a tree nearby.
When he noticed her, he crossed the road and approached within three feet of her before retreating to his residence on Woodborough Road.
Following this, the vigilante group’s member continued to monitor the situation.
Soon after, other members confronted Hamada as he attempted to escape.
Mr.
Alan Murphy, representing the prosecution, explained that Hamada tried to flee but was physically stopped by the vigilantes.
He was found inside his home when police arrived.
During police interviews, Hamada chose to answer questions with silence, replying
