August 2023 Sick Brum paedophile who told young victim ‘no one will believe you’ is jailed A Birmingham man has been jailed after what police described as a “sickening campaign of sexual abuse” against a young girl. Vile Zomid Hussein, 73, told his victim, who was under the age of 13, that “no one would believe you” if she reported the abuse. Hussein sexually assaulted the girl on a number of occasions in an “appalling sequence of abuse” detectives said. Despite his cruel taunts, the victim came forward to police sometime later to report her ordeal. Following a full police investigation from the force’s Rape and Serious Sexual Offences team, Zomid Hussein was jailed at Birmingham Crown Court on July 31 for indecent assault, rape of a child and sexual assault of a child. He has been put behind bars for 14 years. Hussein, who had a previous conviction for making indecent images of children will also be on the sex offenders register for life. Hussein sexually assaulted his victim on multiple occasions, telling her no one would ever believe her if she reported what was happening. Despite this, she bravely came forward some time later in 2019 and reported Hussein, who attended a voluntary interview in December 2020. In his police interview in December that year, Hussein answered ‘no comment’ to all questions. June 2008 Dad is jailed for child sexual abuse images A pervert who downloaded more than 6,000 sexually explicit pictures of children during an 18-month period has been jailed. Father-of-four Zomid Hussain, 58, of Edward Road, Balsall Heath, was jailed for 12 months at Birmingham Crown Court. He pleaded guilty to 24 counts of viewing indecent images of children. A former National Express coach driver, Hussain was also ordered on to the sex offender’s register for ten years. The court heard how Hussain had created 6,678 images of children, 78 in the most serious level five category, from August 2005 until March 2007. Then his house was raided by police and files on the home computer were searched. Following his arrest Hussain was ordered to stay with a relative and to have no contact with any of his children. Judge Elizabeth Fisher said: “Before your arrest you were a man of exemplary character. “But you must understand that these types of offences are treated very seriously. “The court has no option but to impose an immediate prison sentence.”
