BRUTAL BIRMINGHAM PAEDOPHILE ZOMID HUSSEIN SENTENCED FOR SEXUAL ABUSE AND CHILD PORNOGRAPHY
In a disturbing case that has shocked the Birmingham community, a man named Zomid Hussein has been sentenced to a lengthy prison term after being found guilty of multiple heinous crimes involving a young girl and the possession of indecent images of children.According to police reports, Hussein, aged 73, carried out a prolonged and sickening campaign of sexual abuse against a girl under the age of 13.
The victim endured a series of assaults over an unspecified period, during which Hussein subjected her to what authorities described as an "appalling sequence of abuse." During the abuse, Hussein attempted to manipulate the girl by telling her that "no one would believe you" if she ever reported what was happening.
Despite his cruel taunts and efforts to silence her, the girl demonstrated remarkable bravery and eventually came forward to police to report her ordeal.
Following a comprehensive investigation conducted by the Rape and Serious Sexual Offences team of Birmingham police, Hussein was brought before Birmingham Crown Court.
On July 31, he was convicted of multiple charges, including indecent assault, rape of a child, and sexual assault of a child.
The court sentenced him to 14 years in prison, reflecting the severity of his crimes.
It was also revealed that Hussein had a prior conviction related to the creation and distribution of indecent images of children.
As part of his sentence, he will be registered as a sex offender for life, ensuring ongoing monitoring of his activities after his release.
Hussein’s criminal history and his recent conviction highlight the ongoing efforts of law enforcement to combat child sexual abuse and protect vulnerable victims.
His case underscores the importance of reporting abuse and the resilience of victims who come forward despite intimidation and fear.
In a separate but related case from June 2008, Hussein, then 58, was sentenced to 12 months in prison after admitting to viewing more than 6,000 indecent images of children over an 18-month period.
The images, which included 78 at the most serious level five category, were created between August 2005 and March 2007.
His residence in Edward Road, Balsall Heath, was raided by police, leading to the discovery of these illicit files on his home computer.
Following his arrest, Hussein was ordered to stay with a relative and was prohibited from having contact with any of his children.
During his court appearance, Judge Elizabeth Fisher emphasized the gravity of his offenses, stating, "Before your arrest you were a man of exemplary character.
But you must understand that these types of offences are treated very seriously.
The court has no option but to impose an immediate prison sentence." This case serves as a stark reminder of the ongoing battle against child exploitation and the importance of vigilance within communities to protect the most vulnerable members of society.
