DEALER SEXUALLY ABUSED TEEN GIRL IN BIRMINGHAM CAR PARK AFTER SUPPLYING HER WITH COCAINE
A man identified as Mohammed Mutasir has been sentenced to a seven-year prison term after being convicted of serious criminal offenses involving a minor in Birmingham. The court proceedings took place at Worcester Crown Court, where Mutasir, aged 48 and residing on Aldgate Grove in Birmingham, was found guilty in November of multiple charges related to the sexual exploitation of a 15-year-old girl, as well as the supply of Class A drugs to her.
The crimes occurred in April 2022, during which Mutasir engaged in grooming behaviour through social media platforms.
His actions began with numerous messages exchanged with the young girl, which eventually led to a meeting arranged between them.
According to reports from West Midlands Police, Mutasir picked up the girl in his vehicle, and during this encounter, he provided her with cocaine.
Following this, he drove her to a parking lot in Birmingham, where he committed sexual acts against her.
These disturbing incidents did not happen just once but recurred on multiple occasions, highlighting a pattern of predatory behaviour.
Detective Constable Julia Proctor described Mutasir’s conduct as 'abhorrent,' emphasizing that he exploited the trust of his victim through grooming on social media before luring her into dangerous situations.
She stated, 'Mutasir exploited his victim, building her trust by grooming her on social media before arranging to meet her and drugging her for his own sexual gain.' The police force expressed their condemnation of his actions, underscoring the severity of the case.
While the court's verdict and subsequent sentencing serve as a form of justice, Detective Proctor acknowledged the lasting impact on the victim and her family.
She remarked, 'The outcome at court does not take away the pain the victim and the family have suffered, but I hope that now Mutasir is behind bars means they can find some solace from that.' The case highlights the ongoing efforts of law enforcement to combat grooming and sexual exploitation, especially involving minors, and underscores the importance of vigilance and intervention in such cases.
