TIMOTHY CADWALLADER SENTENCED IN LONDON FOR GROOMING STING
A man who believed he was communicating with a 13-year-old girl online has narrowly avoided jail time.
Timothy Cadwallader, 68, of London, appeared in court where he admitted to charges of attempting to involve a minor in sexual activity.
The court was informed that Cadwallader had reached out through an online profile he believed belonged to a 13-year-old girl, referring to himself as "naughty daddy".
He repeatedly expressed his desire to engage her in various sexual acts.
It was revealed that Cadwallader has a previous conviction from 2003 for domestic violence against his partner, during which he threatened her with a dangerous weapon.
The child involved, however, was not underage but an adult member of the paedophile hunting team Scorpion Hunters, working on behalf of Protecting All Little Souls (PALS).
These hunters conducted a sting operation at Cadwallader’s home, questioning him about his internet activities.
Following the confrontation, police were called, and Cadwallader was arrested.
The judge sentenced him to four months in prison, but the term was suspended for 24 months.
In addition, a supervision order was imposed, and a five-year sexual harm prevention order was issued.
Cadwallader was also ordered to register as a sex offender for a period of five years.
