August 2017 Sex beast jailed for trying to rape vulnerable teen A sex beast who tried to rape a teenager with learning difficulties in a Birmingham park has been jailed for seven-and-a-half years. Sujad Hussain led the vulnerable victim to Burbury Park in Lozells and forced himself on her. He fled when she bravely resisted but stole her phone, leaving her alone in an unfamiliar area. But the teenager raised the alarm after walking to a nearby petrol station. Hussain, 28, of Anglesey Street, Lozells, was convicted of assault and attempted rape after a trial at Birmingham Crown Court. He had previously admitted stealing the phone. Passing sentence, Judge Stephen Eyre QC told Hussain that he had taken advantage of the victim’s vulnerability. “Your original plan may have been to take her phone but you realised she was alone in an area she didn’t know,” the judge told him. “You must have realised she had a vulnerability. “You took her to a secluded place and assaulted her. “You controlled her against her will, and used her for your own pleasure. “That offending caused real distress to her.” Hussain, whose previous convictions included seven phone thefts and two attempted robberies, was also ordered to register as a sex offender for life. And he was told to serve one month of a suspended sentence he was subject to at the time for dangerous driving. He was sentenced at Warwick Crown Court, where Judge Eyre is now sitting. The teenager’s ordeal happened in March last year. Hussain, who also had convictions for kidnapping and burglary, told police he took her phone but denied launching a sex attack.
