PETER KENNEDY FROM DUNDEE CAUGHT WITH THOUSANDS OF CHILD ABUSE IMAGES AND VIDEOS
In a disturbing case that has shocked the community of Dundee, a local man named Peter Kennedy has admitted to possessing a large collection of child abuse images and videos. The investigation into Kennedy’s activities revealed that he had downloaded an extensive amount of illicit material, including thousands of indecent images of children and numerous videos depicting sexual abuse.
According to court proceedings held at Dundee Sheriff Court, authorities uncovered a staggering number of illegal files on Kennedy’s devices.
It was revealed that he possessed a total of 5,461 child sexual abuse images and 1,540 videos, many of which were classified at the most extreme end of the scale of indecency.
The court was informed that viewing all the videos consecutively would require approximately five days, underscoring the sheer volume of material involved.
The police action began on October 4 of the previous year when officers executed a warrant at Kennedy’s residence.
They had to force entry into his home on Kerrsview Drive, Dundee, after which they proceeded to trace him to his workplace.
During the investigation, Kennedy was informed of the police inquiry and was cautioned.
Depute fiscal Nicola Gillespie stated that Kennedy voluntarily admitted that there were indecent images stored on his old laptop at his home.
Further searches at Kennedy’s residence uncovered 17 photographs that clearly contained indecent images of children.
Mrs Gillespie explained that, in light of these findings, Kennedy was detained and taken to police headquarters for further questioning.
While waiting in the charge bar area, Kennedy made a startling statement without prompting, claiming that police would find additional indecent images on two 32GB memory sticks.
He indicated that these storage devices were kept on a computer unit shelf in his living room.
Following this confession, officers conducted a thorough search of Kennedy’s property, recovering the two memory sticks along with the laptop and the 17 photographs.
The police analysis of these items revealed a disturbing collection: a total of 911 images and 718 videos depicting serious sexual abuse.
Additionally, there were 176 images and 55 videos involving sadism and acts of bestiality, highlighting the extreme nature of the material Kennedy had downloaded.
Mrs Gillespie emphasized the gravity of the case, noting that the videos alone would have taken five days to watch in a continuous viewing session.
During police interviews, Kennedy fully admitted to downloading the images and even printing some of them, further implicating himself in the possession of these illegal materials.
Kennedy, who resides on Kerrsview Drive in Dundee, pleaded guilty to two charges: possession of indecent photographs and pseudo-photographs of children, and taking or permitting the taking of such images, between July 28, 2013, and September 22, 2013.
The court ordered all items containing the child abuse images to be forfeited and mandated that Kennedy be added to the sex offenders register.
Sentencing was deferred until October 13 to allow for the preparation of reports concerning his case.
