KENNETH BLAIR'S HORRIFIC CRIMES IN DUNDEE AND FIFE REVEALED
In a disturbing case that has shocked the communities of Dundee and Fife, Kenneth Blair, a 66-year-old man with a long history of violence and criminal behavior, has officially abandoned his appeal against a 15-year prison sentence.Blair’s case is particularly notable not only for the severity of his crimes but also for the recent renewed interest by police in the tragic death of his infant son in Dundee in 1968.
Blair was sentenced in September after pleading guilty to a series of heinous acts committed over nearly two decades.
His criminal conduct included brutal physical abuse, psychological torment, and depraved acts of violence directed at his own family members.
The court heard harrowing details of how Blair’s wife, as well as his son and daughter, endured relentless abuse, including being punched, kicked, and beaten with a leather belt that had a heavy buckle.
These acts of violence took place across multiple addresses in Fife, spanning from September 1967 to May 1986.
During the proceedings, Blair’s defense lawyer, Herbert Kerrigan, described his client’s conduct as “barbaric,” acknowledging the extreme nature of his actions.
The judge, Lady Stacey, did not hold back in her sentencing remarks, condemning Blair for his guilty plea to charges that revealed a pattern of violence, depravity, and instilling fear within his family.
The court’s decision to impose a 15-year prison term reflects the gravity of his offenses.
Blair’s criminal record is extensive, including convictions for sexual offenses involving underage girls.
He admitted to crimes of rape and attempted rape, further highlighting his history of predatory behavior.
Additionally, he is the father of Colin Blair, who tragically died in 1968, just six weeks after his birth.
The circumstances surrounding Colin’s death have recently come under renewed scrutiny, with Tayside Police’s major crime review team announcing that they are re-examining the case.
This review could potentially lead to the exhumation of Colin’s remains for further forensic testing, as authorities seek to uncover any new evidence.
In the days leading up to his court appearance, police revealed that they were revisiting the case of Colin Blair’s death, although they clarified that this was a review of existing evidence rather than a new criminal investigation.
The case has garnered significant media attention, partly due to allegations that Blair assaulted his then-pregnant wife, Isabella, now aged 60, during her pregnancy with Colin.
These allegations, however, were ultimately dropped.
Blair had previously admitted to physically assaulting Isabella, including slapping, punching, kicking, pulling her hair, striking her head against a door, hitting her with a belt, and pushing her downstairs on multiple occasions.
Further compounding his criminal profile, Blair also confessed to sexually abusing a 12-year-old girl, who cannot be identified for legal reasons.
His admissions included attempting to rape her on one occasion and sexually molesting her on another, revealing a disturbing pattern of predatory behavior that spans decades.
Despite his convictions and admissions, Blair’s case continues to evoke outrage and concern from the communities of Dundee and Fife, as authorities seek justice and answers for the many victims involved.
