October 2021 Pervert snared by paedo hunters after sending sexual messages to decoy girl A pervert was snared by a paedophile hunter group which posed as a 14-year-old after he spoke about “spanking” the decoy girl. Nafiz Utku groomed what he believed was a schoolgirl called ‘Amber’ from Alloa, Clackmannanshire, on the Kik social media app. Utku, 44, was himself posing as a 30-year-old man called ‘Matt’ when he spent a year sending messages to ‘Amber’. Prosecutors accepted his guilty plea at Edinburgh Sheriff Court in his absence after hearing Utku had contracted coronavirus and couldn’t travel. Utku, of Glen Albyn Road, London, admitted sending sexual communications to someone he believed was a 14-year-old girl. His not guilty plea to travelling to Edinburgh to meet ‘Amber’ for the purpose of engaging in unlawful sexual behaviour was accepted by the Crown. Fiscal depute Alan Wickham told how ‘Amber’ informed Utku about her age but he was “still happy to chat”. Utku told her she “looked nice” and asked her about the clothes she wore. Asking ‘Amber’ about her pyjamas, Utku told her he hoped they were “soft and smooth” and “smooth enough to spank your bum”. Utku added: “A gentle spank would be nice.” Mr Wickham told how the pair would mostly chat in the evenings, but ‘Amber’ was actually a decoy created by the group Maximum Exposure Scotland which eventually contacted police. The court heard Utku was detained by police in Edinburgh. Utku pled guilty at the hearing on Thursday to sending messages of a sexual nature on social media to ‘Amber’ between July 24 2019 and July 24 2020. Sheriff Douglas Keir deferred sentence on Utku until next month for reports and placed him on the sex offenders register.
