LARASAB HUSSAIN FROM DEWSBURY JAILED FOR RAPE AND SEXUAL ASSAULT IN WEST YORKSHIRE
In a disturbing series of criminal acts that have shocked the community in Dewsbury and the surrounding areas of West Yorkshire, Larasab Hussain, a 46-year-old taxi driver, has been sentenced to nine years in prison for serious sexual offenses.The court proceedings revealed a pattern of heinous acts committed by Hussain, including the rape of a woman and the sexual assault of a teenage girl, both of which have left lasting scars on the victims involved.
The case was brought before Leeds Crown Court, where it was established that Hussain lured a woman in her twenties back to his residence in Dewsbury in June 2010.
It was during this visit that he committed a brutal rape, an act that resulted in the woman becoming pregnant.
The court heard that she subsequently gave birth to the child, a consequence of the assault that has added to the trauma she endures.
Hussain initially denied the allegations of rape when the woman reported the incident, but he later admitted to the offense just before his trial was set to commence, after the victim was prepared to give evidence.
His decision to plead guilty came as a shock to many, given the severity of the accusations and the evidence presented against him.
Adding to the gravity of his criminal record, Hussain was involved in another disturbing incident approximately a month prior to the rape.
He was implicated in a humiliating sexual attack on a 15-year-old girl in Dewsbury, specifically in the Ravensthorpe area.
This assault was part of a series of crimes committed against the teenager, who was subjected to repeated sexual abuse by two other men, Ali Rehman and Faisar Younas.
Ali Rehman, aged 26, received an 11-year prison sentence after being convicted of three counts of rape and one count of attempted rape.
Faisar Younas, aged 23, was sentenced to four years for engaging in sexual activity with a minor.
Both men admitted their involvement during a trial held in March, where jurors viewed footage captured on a mobile phone belonging to Hussain, which documented some of the abuse.
The court also heard that Hussain sexually assaulted the same girl while she was showering, after she had been drugged with alcohol.
The victim’s ordeal was compounded by the fact that she was intoxicated and vulnerable at the time of the attack.
The case highlighted the disturbing extent of the abuse and the failure of the perpetrators to respect the innocence and safety of the young girl.
During the sentencing, Simon Perkins, representing Hussain, mentioned that his client was in poor health for his age and appeared vulnerable, especially after threats were made against him while he was in custody.
Despite these mitigating circumstances, the court emphasized the seriousness of Hussain’s crimes and the lasting impact on his victims, leading to his nine-year imprisonment.
The community in Dewsbury continues to grapple with the aftermath of these events, which have underscored the importance of vigilance and justice in protecting vulnerable individuals from such heinous acts.
