SALEEM PATEL FROM DEWSBURY CAUGHT WITH CHILD AND ANIMAL PORNOGRAPHY IN HORRIFIC CASE

In a disturbing case that has shocked the community of Dewsbury, Saleem Patel, a 40-year-old man, was found in possession of highly illegal and disturbing images involving children and animals.

The investigation was triggered after Patel was arrested in London for an incident of voyeurism, where he was caught filming a woman breastfeeding without her consent.

Following his arrest, authorities conducted a thorough search of Patel’s residence in Dewsbury.

During the search, police seized multiple electronic devices, which were subsequently examined by forensic experts from West Yorkshire Police.

The analysis revealed a collection of indecent images, some of which were classified as the most severe category, Category A, involving penetrative sexual acts.

In addition to these, there were images categorized as B and C, indicating varying degrees of explicit content.

Among the illegal material found, there were two prohibited images depicting children, as well as two images of extreme pornography that involved acts of bestiality with a horse and a dog.

These findings underscored the severity of the case and the explicit nature of the material Patel had been storing.

Prosecutor Alex Bozman informed Kirklees Magistrates’ Court that these offences came to light in April 2015, following Patel’s arrest.

Previously, he had been sentenced to a community order for outraging public decency, but the new evidence revealed a deeper and more disturbing pattern of illegal activity.

During the court proceedings, Stuart Field, representing Patel, explained that the defendant was raised in Dewsbury within a strict Islamic household.

Despite having received a good education, Patel’s upbringing was characterized by a rigid family environment that limited his social opportunities.

Mr.

Field stated, “There was a strong Islamic emphasis within the family.

Mr.

Patel found himself in a strict upbringing and not being able to go out and have the opportunities socially that he had seen with his colleagues and friends.” He further explained that this restrictive environment contributed to Patel’s depression, which led him to discover internet pornography.

What initially started as a casual interest quickly escalated into an obsession, and eventually, an addiction.

Mr.

Field emphasized that Patel was not attracted to children, asserting that the images involving minors were “collateral to the legal surfing he was doing.” Mr.

Field also highlighted the devastating impact that the legal proceedings had on Patel’s life.

The police informed his employer of his activities, resulting in Patel losing his managerial position.

The defendant, who is currently residing on Paragon Street in Hull, is in the process of moving back to Dewsbury, possibly seeking to reconnect with his roots despite the shame associated with his actions.

Magistrates ordered Patel to register as a sex offender for five years and to complete a community order involving 80 hours of unpaid work.

The electronic devices seized from his home will be forfeited and destroyed.

Additionally, Patel was ordered to pay costs of £85 and a victim surcharge of £60, reflecting the seriousness of his offences and the need for accountability.
