JORDAN HINCE FROM ORFORD CAUGHT IN PAEDOPHILE STING AT LIVERPOOL'S CENTRAL STATION

In March 2022, a disturbing case unfolded involving Jordan Hince, a 22-year-old man from Orford, who became the subject of a paedophile hunter operation after engaging in a series of online grooming attempts. Hince’s actions spanned over a week in August of the previous year, during which he targeted multiple young girls through Facebook profiles that he believed to be minors aged between 11 and 14.

Throughout this period, Hince persistently pursued these decoy profiles, engaging them in explicit and lewd conversations. He sent images of himself exposing his genitals to some of these accounts, attempting to persuade the girls to send him indecent images by claiming that “all girls do it” and promising that doing so would make them “really cool.” One particularly alarming message involved him urging a 12-year-old girl to “open her legs and send a picture of her fu fu,” while begging her to keep their interactions secret, asserting that it would make her “the most popular” and “queen of every school.”

Hince’s predatory behavior extended further when he communicated with an 11-year-old girl, suggesting they meet up and walk around town before going to her grandmother’s house for sex. He told her that “all she had to do was get naked and he would do the rest,” claiming he would “help her learn” during their supposed meeting. Additionally, he contacted a 14-year-old girl, asking if she would “be his secret girlfriend,” and expressed affection by saying, “I love you babe.”

His plans culminated in an attempt to meet one of the girls at Liverpool’s Central Station, where he intended to have “secret sex” and even invited her to stay overnight. He asked if he could undress her slowly and take pictures of her naked, indicating a clear intent to exploit her sexually. However, his plans were thwarted when paedophile hunters intervened, making a citizen’s arrest before calling the police. The hunters’ timely intervention prevented any physical contact from occurring.

During police interviews, Hince, who had no prior criminal convictions, admitted to knowing what he was doing but insisted he was “not a bad person” and acknowledged that he was “turned on” by the situation. He faced multiple charges, including eight counts of attempting to engage in sexual activity with a child, four counts of attempting to cause a child to look at sexual activity, and two counts of attempting to meet a child after grooming.

At Liverpool Crown Court, Judge David Hale sentenced Hince to two and a half years in prison. The court also imposed an indefinite sexual harm prevention order and ordered him to pay a victim surcharge. In his remarks, the judge emphasized the deliberate nature of Hince’s actions over the week, noting that although the decoy profiles were not real children, Hince was unaware of this fact and quickly moved the conversations toward sexual topics. The judge expressed concern over Hince’s expressed interest in meeting the girls and his plans to have sex with a 14-year-old, which were ultimately prevented by the paedophile hunters.

Supporters in the courtroom included Hince’s mother and grandfather, who watched as he was taken into custody. The case highlights the dangers of online grooming and the importance of vigilant community efforts to protect vulnerable children from predators like Jordan Hince of Orford.
