JAMES CLARK OF CROWTHORNE SENTENCED FOR SEXUAL ABUSE IN READING
A firefighter named James Clark engaged in sexual activity with a 15-year-old girl inside a fire engine and groomed her by giving her alcohol and taking her on day trips, a court heard.
The 41-year-old father of two falsely promised the girl he would leave his wife for her, and controlled her by forbidding her from having a boyfriend her own age.
Clark sexually abused the girl over several years both at her home and at his workplace, according to reports.
The victim, now 21, contacted Childline and reported the abuse when she turned 18, which led to police involvement.
Authorities discovered that Clark had stored pictures on his phone showing him engaging in sexual acts with her.
He pleaded guilty to six counts of sexual activity with a child.
During sentencing at Reading Crown Court, Judge Edward Burgess described the abuse as sustained and targeted at a vulnerable individual.
Clark was sentenced to six years and eight months in prison.
