DAN PIRVU JAILED FOR EXPOSED BEHAVIOR ON LONDON UNDERGROUND AT WEST HAM
A man identified as Dan Pirvu has been sentenced to nine months in prison after he was caught exposing his genitals on the London Underground system.The incident took place at West Ham underground station, a key stop within the London transport network, and has drawn significant attention from law enforcement authorities.
Dan Pirvu, aged 26 and residing on Ripple Road in Barking, appeared before the Inner London Crown Court on August 14.
The court found him guilty of a single count of exposure following a jury trial.
In addition to his prison sentence, Pirvu has been ordered to register as a sex offender for the next ten years.
Furthermore, he has been issued a Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO) that imposes strict restrictions on his movements and access to the London transport system.
Under the terms of the SHPO, Pirvu is prohibited from entering any London Transport Tube station, as outlined on the official Tube map.
He is also barred from traveling on any London Underground services, whether above or below ground.
These measures are designed to prevent any future incidents and to protect the public from potential harm.
The court proceedings revealed that the incident occurred on the evening of Friday, November 17, 2023, at approximately 9:05 pm.
A member of the public, witnessing suspicious behavior, approached a staff member working for Transport for London (TfL).
The witness reported that a man, later identified as Pirvu, was engaging in indecent exposure on the District Line platform at West Ham station.
Following the report, TfL staff immediately alerted the CCTV control room.
Surveillance footage confirmed the witness’s account, showing Pirvu on the platform with his trousers around his knees, exposing both his bottom and genitals.
The footage also captured him causing members of the public to move away from him in alarm.
The staff member present at the scene also observed Pirvu’s indecent behavior and promptly reported the incident to British Transport Police.
Law enforcement officers responded swiftly, arriving at West Ham station and arresting Pirvu at approximately 9:13 pm.
Detective Constable Michael Taylor, who led the investigation, emphasized the seriousness of such conduct.
He stated, “There is no place for this kind of behaviour on the rail network, and we will work quickly to apprehend these kinds of offenders.” Detective Taylor also expressed hope that the sentence and the Sexual Harm Prevention Order would serve as a deterrent, giving Pirvu time to reflect on his actions and preventing him from offending again in the future.
The case underscores the ongoing efforts by authorities to maintain safety and order within London’s busy transport system, ensuring that the public can travel without fear of exposure or harassment.
