DUNDEE MAN ACCUSED OF ASSAULTING EX-PARTNER AND BREACHING BAIL
William Burns, aged 35, who is currently a prisoner at Perth, had his sentencing postponed at Dundee Sheriff Court after admitting to a serious assault on his ex-partner, Angela Fleming.Burns was found guilty of trapping Ms Fleming in their home on April 3, during which he pushed her against a door, seized her by the hair, dragged her by the hair, and prevented her from leaving.
During the assault, he repeatedly punched her, causing injury.
In addition to this, Burns admitted to a second charge of behaving in a threatening or abusive manner on the same date at the same location, where he was shouting, swearing, acting aggressively, uttering threats of violence towards three police officers, and kicking and headbutting a wall.
He also breached bail conditions by approaching and contacting Ms Fleming and entering the property.
The court deferred sentence until July 20 for further reports and a narrative from the Crown.
He is known as William Burns, a 35-year-old offender with a history of violence.
His case highlights the ongoing issues of domestic violence in Dundee, and his sentencing has been postponed pending additional information.
