DUNDEE PAEDOPHILE CAUGHT WITH CHILD ABUSE IMAGES TRYING TO DESTROY EVIDENCE
Child sex offender Robert McPhee attempted to toss mobile phones out of a window during a police raid at his Dundee residence.He claimed to officers that he was heading to the toilet but instead headed straight for a bedroom, where authorities stopped him before he could dispose of evidence.
Authorities found numerous images and videos of child abuse on devices confiscated from the 20-year-old, some of which were of the most severe and disturbing nature.
Dundee Sheriff Court was told that McPhee used the encrypted messaging platform Telegram to both store and share the abusive content, with some files cleverly concealed within a fake calculator application.
Residing on Happyhillock Road, McPhee previously admitted to taking or allowing the taking of indecent images of children from February 2018 to January 2025.
His possession of child abuse material was noted between April 2024 and January 2025, with distribution occurring from August 2023 to January 2024.
The court confirmed that the videos had a combined duration of 56 minutes.
As part of his sentence, McPhee will be under supervision and subject to the "Moving Forward to Change" scheme, along with sex offender notification requirements, for three years under a community payback order.
Additionally, he faces strict behavioral conditions and has been mandated to complete 160 hours of unpaid community service.
