WAYNE WRIGHT DOMESTIC ABUSER FROM DUNDEE SENTENCED TO 10 MONTHS IN PRISON
Wayne Wright, a resident of Fintryside in Dundee, has been sentenced to a term of ten months in prison following his conviction for a pattern of abusive behavior towards his partner. The case was heard at Dundee Sheriff Court, where the 47-year-old was found guilty of a series of aggressive and threatening actions carried out over a period spanning May and June of this year.
According to court records, Wright engaged in abusive conduct at multiple locations within Dundee, including various properties in the city.
The court also heard that during a journey on the A90 motorway between Aberdeen and Dundee, Wright continued his pattern of violence and intimidation.
The trial revealed that Wright shouted, swore, and behaved aggressively towards his partner, often making offensive remarks and issuing threats of violence.
Additionally, he was found to have directed threats towards an unidentified male during the course of his abusive episodes.
Further evidence presented in court detailed Wright’s physical assaults, which included pushing his partner, punching her on the head, and striking her on the body.
The court also noted that Wright had entered her home uninvited on multiple occasions, refused to leave when asked, and repeatedly made inappropriate sexual remarks, adding to the severity of his misconduct.
Wright’s background was also discussed during the proceedings.
His solicitor, David Sinclair, highlighted that Wright, who works as a carer for his ill father, had previously served a one-month jail sentence for a domestic offense.
The court took these factors into account when delivering its judgment.
In addition to the prison sentence, Sheriff Alastair Carmichael imposed a non-harassment order against Wright, which will remain in effect for three years.
This order is intended to prevent any further contact or harassment of the victim, ensuring her safety and peace of mind moving forward.
