DUNDEE TEENAGER JAILED FOR VIOLENT DOMESTIC ABUSE AND MULTIPLE CRIMES
Thomas Mullen, 18, was sentenced to a total of 16 months detention and was made subject to an 18-month non-harassment order for a series of violent crimes.
He brutally assaulted his domestic partner in front of children, pinning her down and punching her multiple times, with the woman fearing for her life.
Mullen also forcibly entered her home, bit a man’s ear leaving him permanently disfigured while holding an infant, and damaged property including a television and a car.
He admitted to possessing a zombie knife, chasing a rival, setting fire to a car, and spitting in his partner’s face.
Mullen had been on six bail orders from different courts at the time of these offenses.
The sheriff commented that he had run out of options in the community and indicated that enough was enough.
The court noted the volatile relationship and concerns about Mullen’s mental health, though his family remains supportive.
Despite this, the court decided that the appropriate punishment was detention due to the severity of his crimes and the threats posed.
