Recently, he terrorized another partner over five months, even threatening to stab her while remanded at Perth Prison.
A sheriff described him as a danger to women, imposing an extended sentence of four years in custody plus two years in the community.
The Dundee Sheriff Court heard how Donaldson repeatedly berated and insulted his victim, including blaming her for being soaked by rain.
He was convicted of slapping her, pinning her to the ground, choking her for around a minute causing her difficulty breathing, and later pulling her extensions out during a jealous rage.
He punched her in the nose, causing bleeding, and smashed her phone to prevent police contact.
While in Perth Prison, Donaldson continued to threaten and abuse her, stating plans to stab her and mocking his brother’s death.
He previously pleaded guilty to domestic abuse committed between October 2023 and March 2024 despite being on bail multiple times.
His past convictions include a severe attack in 2020 where he kicked a woman so hard a metal plate was needed in her arm.
A lawyer acknowledged his need for psychological treatment and ongoing work.
The sheriff deemed his conduct vicious and cruel, highlighting his background of similar offenses, and sentenced him to six years, with an order for indefinite non-harassment.
