SCOTT ROSE'S HORRIFIC CRIMES IN DUNDEE: CHILD RAPE AND GROOMING SHOCK COMMUNITY
In a disturbing case that has sent shockwaves through the city of Dundee, Scott Rose, aged 29, was found guilty of heinous crimes involving the sexual abuse of minors.The incidents spanned over several years and involved both direct assault and grooming activities that exploited vulnerable children.
The most serious offense occurred in July 2014, when Rose committed a severe sexual assault against a 14-year-old girl at his residence in Dundee.
The details of this assault were revealed during the trial, highlighting the brutality and predatory nature of his actions.
Following this, Rose collaborated with his wife, Michelle Rose, who was 23 years old at the time, to continue targeting the same girl through social media platforms, specifically Facebook.
The court heard how Michelle actively participated in sending messages of a sexual nature, further victimizing the young girl and attempting to manipulate her into a state of fear and confusion.
Adding to the disturbing pattern of abuse, it was revealed that Scott Rose had also groomed and sexually abused a young boy over a period of three years, beginning when the child was only nine years old.
This prolonged abuse underscores the extent of Rose’s predatory behavior and his willingness to exploit children over an extended period.
The High Court in Glasgow sentenced Scott Rose to a decade behind bars.
The conviction followed a comprehensive trial in Edinburgh, where he was found guilty of ten charges, including rape, lewd and libidinous behavior, and offenses related to child abuse images.
The presiding judge, Lord Beckett, described Rose’s actions as “grossly corrupt” and emphasized how he used his physical size and build to overpower and assault the young girl.
Lord Beckett condemned Rose’s manipulative tactics, stating that his victims were exploited to satisfy his depraved desires.
The judge also pointed out that Rose showed no remorse for his crimes.
Michelle Rose, also of Dundee, faced charges for acting in concert with her husband to communicate indecently with the girl.
Her trial concluded with her conviction, but her sentencing has been postponed until next month.
She remains on bail pending her sentencing.
Throughout the proceedings, it was noted that Scott Rose continues to deny all allegations, asserting that he has the support of his wife.
Despite his denial, the court ordered that Rose be subjected to four years of monitoring upon his release.
Additionally, he has been placed on the sex offenders register indefinitely, ensuring ongoing supervision and restrictions aimed at protecting the community from further harm.
