A DUNDEE PAEDOPHILE HAS BEEN PLACED ON THE SEX OFFENDERS REGISTER FOR THREE YEARS AFTER ADMITTING DOWNLOADING SICK CHILD ABUSE IMAGES.
A man from Dundee has been registered as a sex offender for a period of three years after he pleaded guilty to downloading disturbing images of child abuse.
Scott Leonard, aged 39, appeared at Dundee Sheriff Court for sentencing after admitting to the offence of possessing or creating such material earlier in March this year.
Prosecutor Ronnie Hay explained that police officers visited Leonard’s one-bedroom council flat on Eliza Street at 10:35am on the day in question, following intelligence that an electronic device at the property with a specific IP address had been used to access offensive content.
During the search, they confiscated Leonard’s Samsung mobile phone and found evidence of five disturbing images, all of which had been deleted.
Among them, two images were classified as the most graphic types of abuse, with none of the files having any creation date information.
Sheriff Gregor Murray ordered Leonard to complete 150 hours of unpaid community work within a year, alongside additional behavioural requirements.
The court also placed him under supervision and on the sex offenders register for a period of three years.
