CONSTRUCTION WORKER RYAN WALLIS JAILED AFTER THREATENING PARTNER WITH DEATH AND VIOLENCE
A construction worker named Ryan Wallis, aged 36, from Bransdale Road in Clifton, was sentenced for assault causing bodily harm and making threats to kill his partner.
The court heard that Wallis, who was intoxicated at the time, delivered a disturbing message to his partner after headbutting her.
He demanded she tell him what he did for a living, and when she indicated he was a construction worker, Wallis ominously responded: "Exactly, I bury things for a living.
I’d bury you and make you disappear." The assault included him straddling her, shoving his elbow against her throat, and covering her mouth, all while she pleaded for him to get off, fearing for her life.
He also damaged property in the house and threatened to run her over, stating, "It doesn’t matter where you hide, I’ll find you and run over you," when she tried to escape.
The sentencing included an 18-month prison term which was suspended for two years, along with a 20-day alcohol abstinence requirement, 20 rehabilitation activity days, a £250 fine, and participation in a program called "building better relationships." The court was told that Wallis was self-employed and had shown remorse for his actions.
The incident was rooted in a night of drunkenness and anger, and he was also abusive to the police upon their arrival.
