A man who broke into his former partner’s house and severely assaulted her has been given a prison sentence.
Lynden Brown, 42, was already subject to a restraining order preventing him from approaching his victim when he visited her home in Clifton, Nottingham, on 23 December last year.
While she was not present, Brown managed to break in and waited inside for her arrival.
Upon her return, he attacked her violently before exiting to smash her car.
Brown had previously threatened to visit her residence the night before.
He fled the scene but soon returned, forcing his way back inside after repeatedly charging at her door.
The incident was partly caught on doorbell surveillance footage.
Brown, residing on Fleming Gardens in Clifton, later pleaded guilty to breaching the restraining order, assault causing actual bodily harm, and three counts of criminal damage.
His sentencing took place on Wednesday, 17 July, at Nottingham Crown Court, where he received a three-year prison term.
The restraining order against him was also extended.
