RYAN SCOTT AND SHOCKING SEXUAL ASSAULT IN DUNDEE
Ryan Scott, a transgender individual born female, has been convicted of sexually abusing a teenage girl in Dundee.The incident took place after Scott, who now identifies as male, lured a 14-year-old girl back to his home following a meeting on Valentine’s Day last year.
Details reveal that Scott, who uses the name Coral Scott, approached the young girl and managed to persuade her to visit his residence in Dundee.
Once there, Scott attacked the girl with the intent of engaging her in sexual activity.
The assault was carried out while they were alone at Scott’s home, and the girl was subjected to unwanted and traumatic sexual contact.
Following the attack, Scott attempted to cover her tracks by creating fake social media profiles.
These accounts were used to send abusive messages and threats to the victim, aiming to intimidate her and prevent her from speaking out.
It was this pattern of abuse that eventually led to Scott’s arrest.
Scott, who has been in custody at Polmont Young Offenders’ Institution, is currently held in the female wing of the prison, despite having identified as male since childhood.
The court proceedings took place this past Friday at Dundee Sheriff Court, where Scott appeared under her birth name, Coral, and admitted to multiple charges related to the sexual assault.
The victim’s mother, who is 33 and from Dundee, spoke openly about the profound impact of the incident.
She explained that her daughter, now 15, underwent a significant emotional and psychological change following the events.
"After it happened, my child became withdrawn and even violent.
She refused to speak to us, and we could tell something was wrong.
We didn’t realize she had gone to meet someone," she stated.
The mother recounted how a friend alerted her to the situation, revealing that someone named Coral Scott had told others about planning to meet her daughter.
Further inquiry led to the realization that the young girl was involved with Scott, who was known as Ryan to her.
"We kept asking our daughter, ‘Who is Coral?’ and she told us his name was Ryan.
We didn’t understand what was happening at first," she shared.
It was only weeks later that her daughter confided that Scott had forced her into acts against her will, describing how she was overcome with fear and trauma during the assault.
The mother expressed heartbreak over what she described as a monstrous betrayal, emphasizing that regardless of gender identity, Scott’s actions were those of an adult preying on a child.
During the court session, Scott, identified on court documents as “Coral Scott, also known as Ryan Scott,” pleaded guilty to engaging in sexual activity with or towards the 14-year-old girl.
The court heard that Scott and the victim had initially connected through Snapchat, via a mutual friend’s group.
Prosecutor Joanne Ritchie detailed the sequence of events, stating that Scott and the girl first met at the McManus Galleries in Dundee.
They then traveled together to Scott’s home by bus, where they spent time alone in the living room watching movies.
The situation escalated when Scott’s behavior changed after a friend arrived, and she began to show signs of sexual aggression by kissing and sucking the girl’s neck, leaving visible bruises.
Following the assault, Scott attempted to obstruct justice by sending death threats to the girl through social media.
Multiple fake accounts were used to target her with frightening messages.
Scott’s activities escalated when, on May 1 of the previous year, she was arrested, already under six bail conditions.
Further threats followed on May 10, when Scott sent two voice messages to the girl, threatening her with violence if she identified her or was present in the same area.
On April 29, the girl received a Snapchat voice message from an unknown individual named 'Bob,' whose voice the girl immediately recognized as Scott’s.
In the message, Scott warned, “See the next time I see you, you better not be in my scheme or I’ll f***ing do you.” Scott is currently detained in the female wing at HMP Polmont in Falkirk, which houses young men and women aged between 16 and 21, pending sentencing scheduled for March 2.
The Scottish Prison Service declined to comment on individual cases.
The case has also raised broader concerns as Scottish authorities and politicians grapple with issues surrounding the placement of transgender offenders in female facilities, a debate intensified by recent high-profile cases such as the transfer of Isla Bryson, a male-born individual convicted of double rape.
The gravity of this case underscores serious concerns about the protection of minors and the moral responsibilities of society to safeguard vulnerable children from predatory adults, regardless of gender identity.
