ROSS BUCHAN FROM DUNDEE ACCUSED OF CHILD SEX OFFENCES AND BOMB THREAT ON LOGANAIR FLIGHT
A 20-year-old man has appeared in court charged with child sex offenses and making a false bomb threat related to a Loganair flight.Ross Buchan is accused of making phone calls from his Dundee residence on January 4, claiming that an explosive device was on a flight operating between Glasgow and Kirkwall.
These calls led to multiple flight delays, and Buchan was detained to appear at Dundee Sheriff Court on the following Monday.
Court documents allege that between November 18 and 25 of the previous year, Buchan sent explicit images and videos to a minor, and also issued violent threats aimed at the youth.
During that period, he is also accused of threatening to stab and kill the child, alongside making sexually explicit threats.
Additionally, Buchan is charged with repeatedly calling with the intent to falsely induce others into believing that a bomb or similar explosive device was on a plane, specifically Flight LM432 from Glasgow to Kirkwall.
The flight was in the air at the time, carrying several passengers and crew.
The case was called in private, with no plea entered by his solicitor, Anika Jethwa.
Sheriff Clair McLachlan remanded Buchan in custody for further investigation and scheduled a second hearing next week.
