MORE JAIL TIME FOR PERTHSHIRE THUG WHO BATTERED PARTNER AND STRANGER OUTSIDE DUNDEE’S CLUB BAR
Robert Stewart's night out in the city ended with him putting two people in hospital and leaving one on a liquid diet.
Stewart attacked his partner in front of a bouncer, punching her on the head and causing her to fall to the pavement, then slapping her before walking away.
He also unprovokedly returned and repeatedly punched a stranger who had just collected a takeaway, resulting in a fractured cheek and other injuries.
Both victims were taken to Ninewells Hospital.
Stewart pleaded guilty to these assaults, which occurred on July 19, and was already serving a 26-month sentence for other violence and disorder offences.
The court added another 25 months to his sentence, emphasizing his history of violence and previous assaults.
Stewart also spent time in Murray Royal hospital diagnosed with depression, with allegations of alcohol misuse and PTSD.
During sentencing, he was told his actions caused lasting injuries, and he declared his love for his partner as he was led away in cuffs.
